Sinopsis

Heat transfer characteristics of a 2D-axisymmetric Porous Radiant Burner is studied. Two separate energy equation for the gas and the solid phase are considered, to take care of local thermal non-equilibrium between the two phases. Combustion of methane in air is modeled by using single step global mechanism. Only solid is assumed to be radiatively participating. The radiative transport equation is solved using finite volume method. Influence of various properties (like porosity, scattering albedo, air velocity etc.) on performance of Porous Radiant Burner is studied.
