SINOPSIS
A-priori tests are carried out to analyse the SGS enstrophy transfer in turbulent channel ow. The SGS enstrophy transfer is negative (SGS enstrophy backscatter) in the viscous sublayer until y+~6, where it becomes positive (SGS enstrophy forward scatter). The maximum enstrophy dissipation is found to be located at about 8 wall units, where a strong correlation is detected between the highspeed streaks and the SGS enstrophy dissipation.
