2.4 Transient Flow-Boiling from Vessels

Sinopsis

The main task of the paper is to study transient flow-boiling from high pressure vessels when one of its nozzles is depressurized and give some numerical results obtained during solution of the problem. In order to analyse flow-boiling there was used one-dimensional thermal equilibrium model so it's assumed that velocities, temperatures and phase pressures are the same. In the case of equilibrium flow-boiling liquid there has been offered the efficient generalization of Godunov's numerical method that enables to calculate propagation of boiling up wave in the volume of liquid. There has been worked out the computational model of boiling up liquid inlet section from vessel into nozzle. There was determined transient flow-rates from the nozzle. In the cases of various vessels and nozzles geometry there had been studied features of pressure waves propagation.
