SINOPSIS

Particle-bed collisions and its mechanicsare the core of sand movement research and an effective wayto revealthe micro and macro sand flow movement. Large eddy simulation is employed to model sand saltation in this paper. Two kinds of splash models for large eddy simulation areused, namely three-dimensional stochastic grain-bed collisions model and probabilistic model.The results show that the former coincide with experimental results and can be well applied to the numerical simulation of wind flow.
