Flow oscillations in T-shaped channel taking into account mass transfer in branching region

A method for modelling of unsteady processes in branched channels is presented. The method is based on the solution of one-dimensional equations describing an unsteady flow of a single-phase continuous medium with constant thermal properties taking into account processes in the branching region. Experimental and numerical data on oscillations in the branching region are presented. It is shown that the flow in branched channels with certain combination of channel lengths is accompanied by a resonance frequency shift and damping/suppressing of some oscillation modes.
