FLOW, HEAT AND PRESSURE DROP COMPUTATION FOR TUBE BUNDLES IN CROSS FLOW BY BOUNDARY-DOMAIN INTEGRAL METHOD

Sinopsis

In the present work conditions in tubular heat exchanger are observed. Boundary-domain integral method is used to model flow around individual tubes within a tube bundle using 2-dimensional grid. Laminar incompressible fluid flow, governed by Navier-Stokes equations in form of velocity-vorticity formulation, is observed. The present study considers flow past a five row in-line tube bank. Results for heat transfer (Nu number) and pressure drop coefficient are obtained for tube arrays of pitch ratio 1.5 and for different Re numbers. Comparison with experimental data and finite element results shows good agreement.
