THERMALHYDRAULIC BEHAVIOR OF A MOLTEN CORE WITHIN A STRUCTURE, SIMULATED BY THE TOLBIAC CODE
DOI: 10.1615/ICHMT.1995.RadTransfProcHeatMassTransfSevNuclReactAcc.180
SINOPSIS
The TOLBIAC code is devoted to the simulation of the behavior of a molten core within a structure (pressure vessel or core catcher). The code is briefly described: 3D meshing, 3 phases (liquid metals, liquid oxides and gas), physical properties and constitutive laws, wall ablation and crust formation. Some results are presented in order to illustrate the code potentialities: the behavior of a molten core in a vessel lower head on one hand, and in an external core catcher on the other hand.
