It is demonstrated that even in the case of an arbitrarily small separation of the elements of the double object the latter can be discriminated from a single object with the same reflecting properties with a reliability as high as desired if the signal-to-noise ratio is sufficiently great. The results proceed essentially from the point-size nature of the objects. %8 2001-11-01
