Maximal proteolytic activity and variety of molecular forms of enzymes were registered in the salivary glands, and minimal proteolytic activity was registered in hepatopancreas and the Leiblein gland. Using specific inhibitors it was established that the proteolytic activity of the salivary glands was caused mainly by metalloproteinases.
