T1 Hormonal Regulation of Adaptive Processes in Fishes to Impact of Abiotic Factors (a Review) JF Hydrobiological Journal JO HYD YR 2016 FD 2016-07-26 VO 52 IS 3 SP 86 OP 98 K1 adaptation K1 cortisol K1 prolactin K1 somatotropin K1 osmoregulation K1 thyroid hormones K1 insulin-like growth factor 1 K1 stress. AB Literature data on functional significance of selected hormones in the vital activity of fishes were considered. It was shown that prolactin is actively involved in fish adaptation to the freshwater environment, cortisol and growth hormone promote fish adaptation to saline water and regulate processes associated with growth, forming of eggs and immunity. Joint effects of these hormones over changes of water salinity were analyzed. Adaptive role of hormones of thyroid and adrenal glands in the development of stress reactions of different fishes to changes of habitat conditions was considered.
