In this study, a suitable facility has been constructed to reproduce this phenomenon, and appropriate experimental techniques and data processing tools have been designed so as to be able to extract valuable information. Some preliminary results concerning atomization, spray geometry, and mixing are presented. One of the main findings in this study is that for a given nozzle geometry, the spray cone angle does play an important role in the phenomenon, whereas it is not relevant in the case of a gas jet interacting with a cross flow because the jet cone angle is nearly nondependent on the cross-flow density. %8 2006-05-01
