A hydrodynamic instability of internal waves and flows that can lead to mixed regions (patches) is considered. The characteristics of the main types of motion (modes) of collapsing turbulence are studied. Special attention is drawn to the intrusion mode. A relation between restratification processes and those of molecular transport of momentum and material is analyzed. %8 1996-04-01
