Grad's 13 moment equations, which have a kinetic origin and enable significant deviation from the equilibrium flow to be considered, are used. The gas-dynamic model of the flow is a two-layer approximation of the thin viscous shear layer near the non-thin bodies. A mathematical model of the flow is proposed that gives the possibility of solving the kinetic problem based on the known solution to the Navier–Stokes problem. It is shown that the solutions to both problems totally coincide in the spreading plain of the shock layer. The friction stresses and heat fluxes on the wall in both cases are shown to be identical not only along the spreading lines but also over the whole butt surface.
