SINOPSIS
The qualitative composition of alcohol-soluble pigments in Spirulina platensis (Nordst.) Geitl. was studied. Chlorophyll a, β-carotene, echinenon, zeaxanthin and myxoxanthophyll were separated by paper chromatography. Basing on the spectral characteristics of absorption spectra and on a comparison with the data available in literature, it was possible to carry out identification of pigments.
