Chlorella vulgaris LARG -3 in magnetic field
SINOPSIS
External magnetic field and local magnetic field effects of finely dispersed iron particles on cells of a microalga Chlorella vulgaris LARG-3 were investigated. It was proved that 30-minute external field influence of voltage 1−4 kE stimulates growth in cell biomass and secretion of extracellular metabolites, the polysaccharides, in particular. This effect increases 1.5 to 2 times for cells aggregated with finely dispersed iron particles. It was determined that such a magnetic field effect activating micro algae cells is preserved up to six days after its termination (the after-effect), which allows recommendation of established regimes for treatment of sowing material with the aim of raising biomass during industrial growing of microalgae.
