SINOPSIS
A comparative analysis of the 18S rDNA partial sequence of an authentic strain of Scenedesmus basiliensis subculture (ACKU 646-06) showed its identity with similar sequences of a number of strains of Acutodesmus obliquus (Turpin) P. Tsarenko. This result confirms the status of S. Basiliensis as a synonym of A. obliquus.
