INVESTIGATION OF TEMPERATURE-DEPENDENT VISCOSITY ON STEADY, FULLY DEVELOPED MIXED CONVECTION FLOW IN A VERTICAL MICROCHANNEL: AN EXACT SOLUTION

SINOPSIS

This work aims to study the flow formation and thermal behaviors of steady, fully developed mixed convection flow of an incompressible and viscous fluid in a vertical microchannel in the presence of temperature-dependent viscosity. The effects of velocity slip and temperature jump are taken into account. The exact solutions of the governing momentum and energy equations are obtained using the method of undetermined coefficients. The influences of viscosity variation parameter, mixed convection parameter, Knudsen number, and the ratio of wall temperature difference on the microchannel hydrodynamic and thermal behaviors have been investigated in detail. Results indicate that an increase in viscosity variation parameter enhanced the volume flow rate and skin friction.
