SINOPSIS
An application of hydroacoustic means for detecting ice drift and controlling the ice conditions in the channel zones is considered. An analysis of the obtained experimental data allows specifying the evolution stages of the water area ice cover, that generate the specific background acoustic signals. It is shown that knowledge of their characteristic features provides the efficient tracing and predicting of ice conditions by hydroacoustic methods.
