NEAR FIELD-TO-FAR FIELD RELATION IN THE PROBLEM OF PLANE WAVE SCATTERING BY A STATISTICALLY ROUGH SURFACE
SINOPSIS
In the case of plane wave scattering by a statistically rough surface, asymptotic representations are presented for two-fold integrals of rapidly oscillating functions which determine the time correlation function of the scattered field. Calculations for scattering angles much greater than the characteristic angular size of the Fresnel zone are performed by the stationary phase method. In the case of scattering at zeroth grazing angles a combined method is used, specifically, the stationary phase method is applied with respect to the transverse (relative to the scattering plane) variable and the Fraunhofer diffraction approximation with respect to the longitudinal variable. The relation is established with the calculation results already presented in the literature.
