SINOPSIS

The effect of estron (8 µg / 100 g of animal's body weight) on the liver exocrine function and changes in the bile acid composition in rats of both sexes was studied. It has been found that estron significantly changed the choleresis dynamics in females, and it determined differently directed changes in the bile acid composition of the bile in both males and females. Estron in the applied dose was shown to stimulate choleresis more effectively in the liver of female rats, which was accompanied by significant changes in the choleresis dynamics. Estrone was responsible for differently directed changes in the bile acid composition, indicating an increase in bile acid conjugation with taurine and glycine in the liver of female rats. In males, increased biosynthesis of free and conjugated bile acids was observed.
