ON THE STRETCHING OF VORTEX FILAMENTS

SINOPSIS

The process of stretching vortex tubes is considered by the example of a vortex lattice. In the turbulent case, the parameters affecting the evolution of vortices are determined. It is shown that the cross section of vortex tubes under stretching strongly depends on the ratio of the lattice step to the Kolmogorov turbulence scale.
