Acoustic Method for Determination of Accommodation Coefficient in Fogs
SINOPSIS
A linear theory on the propagation of plane waves in polydispersed vapor gas drop mixtures is erected taking into account both non-stationary and non-equilibrium effects of the phase interaction. An effect of phase transformations is studied for the suspension as well as its polydispersive composition and governing parameters upon the pattern of the wave dispersion and dissipation in polydispersed air fogs. The comparison of the proposed theory with known experimental date on sound attenuation in air fogs is given. An analysis of the investigation on aerosol acoustics show that there is the possibility of principle for determination of accommodation coefficient that determines a part of molecules of vapor absorbed in surfaces of droplets.
