SINOPSIS

In the present study, analytical expressions for limiting temperature profiles, bulk mean temperature, and limiting Nusselt numbers have been obtained for laminar forced convection in parallel plate channels partially filled with a porous material. The flow field is assumed to be fully developed. The flow in the fluid region is governed by Poiseuille description and in the porous region by Brinkman extended non-Darcy flow. The channel walls have been assumed to be a constant, equal wall temperature. Three viscous dissipation models in the porous region are employed. They are the Darcy model, the form drag model, and the clear fluid compatible model. Analytical expressions have obtained temperature, bulk mean temperature, and Nusselt number at the conduction limit.
