Problems and Progress of Investigations of Hydroecosystems' Ecological State in View of Implementation of EU Environmental Directives in Ukraine

The paper deals with issues of implementation of the EU environmental Directives in Ukraine. The urgent tasks for the successful implementation of six directives of the water sector, particularly development of the River basin management plans are outlined. Specific feature of the water resources in Ukraine consists in existence of big plain reservoirs.
