SINOPSIS
As a result of long-term investigations, it has been found that periphyton algae communities of the same type belonging to the association Lyngbyo putealis-Oscillatorietum brevis are formed in the sections subjected to considerable heating in all the studied cooling ponds of thermal and nuclear power stations of Ukraine. The presence of thermophilous species of blue-green algae among diagnostic taxa is peculiar to this association.
