SINOPSIS
The species composition of the main communities, including phyto- and zooplankton, microfauna, zoobenthos, fish fauna, and fish parasites, of the upper reaches of the Tisa river within the territory of Ukraine was investigated. It has been found that the number of species of the hydrofauna essentially decreased as compared to that registered in recent decades, which was conditioned by changes in the water regime of the river as a result of excessive timber purchasing in the Ukrainian Carpathians.
