SINOPSIS
In Lake Baikal, seasonal dynamics of plankton Ciliata development are characterized by several types differing in the intensity of Ciliata development under the ice and in summertime, and also in the composition of their seasonal complexes. Phytoplankton biomass (contribution of the influence 78%) is the main factor influencing seasonal and interannual dynamics of Ciliata development. Temperature influences the composition and abundance of Ciliata in summertime. Interannual variations in seasonal dynamics of Ciliata development coincide with phytoplankton successions.
