Quantitative Characteristics of Zooplankton of the Curonian Lagoon taken by Different Sampling Methods

SINOPSIS

When compared two sampling methods − filtration and sedimentation − coefficient of lost of mass small rotifers was calculated, zooplankton numerical density and portions of taxonomic groups in total numbers and ecological state of the Curonian lagoon was determined more precisely. Data obtained using rotifers’ lost coefficient, characterize water body as eutrophic to hypereutrophic, this assessment agrees with assessment by phytoplankton characteristics.
