SINOPSIS
Paper describes experience of application of the method of identification of contaminants' class, which cause the bottom sediments toxicity for the benthic and planktonic invertebrates owing to the secondary water pollution. The method consists in study of the test-organisms responses to adding of the substances capable of binding of contaminants of the certain chemical class. This enables identification of the contaminants' class in a series of experiments. Possibility to use Chironomus riparius larvae and Daphnia magna juveniles for identification the freshwater sediments toxicity was substantiated.
