Content of Lipids and Their Fatty-Acids Composition in the Seaweeds of the Black Sea
SINOPSIS
Total content of lipids and their fatty acids composition in the widespread seaweeds of the Odessa Bay of the Black Sea: Chlorophyta − Enteromorpha intestinalis (Nees) Link, Chaetomorpha aerea (Dillw.) Kütz., Bryopsis plumosa (Huds.) C. Ag., Cladophora vagabunda (L.) Hoek; Rhodophyta − Porphyra leucostica Thur., Polysiphonia elongate (Huds.) Spreng., Ceramium siliquosum var. elegans (Roth) G. Furmari; Phaeophyta − Scytosiphon simplicissimus (Clemente) Cremades and Punctaria latifolia Grev. was investigated. Seaweeds of the department Chlorophyta were characterized by maximal content of lipids and polyunsaturated fatty acids. In the seaweeds' lipids prevailed unsaturated fatty acids: oleic, linoleic and linolenic.
