SINOPSIS

The peculiarities of the response of algae to the presence of Pb2+ and Cu2+ ions in water were studied on the example of the cultures of Chlorella vulgaris and Microcystis aeruginosa. The influence of the mentioned toxicants on phototrophic organisms manifested itself in the decrease in the growth rate of cell numbers, dry mass, and chlorophyll a content.
