SINOPSIS
The species composition and seasonal dynamics of the numbers and biomass of mero- and holoplankton both outside and inside of the oceanarium of Sevastopol Bay were studied during a year. It has been found that meroplankton was represented by 18 species, whereas holoplankton - by 34 species. Seven species of Copepoda were first found in holoplankton of the bay. An artificial protective net occupied by settlements of mussels served as a biological filter.
