SINOPSIS

A system operating in two modes is considered. The system structures in these modes are described by different fault trees. A fast simulation method producing unbiased estimates for the probability of system failure is developed. The conditions are obtained which guarantee the boundedness of a relative mean square error of estimate when reliability of components is increasing. The efficiency of the method proposed is illustrated on a numerical example.
