DECOMPOSITION METHOD FOR DETERMINING THE HIGH REFLECTED SECTIONS OF A COMPLEX OBJECT SURFACE
SINOPSIS
The paper presents the comparison of data obtained by numerical simulation of electromagnetic wave scattering on the complex-shape objects and measurement results obtained using a decomposition method. The method consists in measuring the radar cross-section (RCS) in the near field zone of single parts of the object. After measuring RCS of all the object parts we have summed them in order to obtain an idea about an average RCS of the whole object. The goal of the study was to compare the location of the most reflecting parts on the object by simulation and measuring in the radio-location wavelength range. The object under investigation was a tactical armored wheel machine TAWM. In the context of this study each of objects has been investigated from the four sighting direction: onto the left and right side walls, rear and nose at an angle of elevation equal to zero.
