On the Motion of Electron Beams in the High-Frequency Field of the Klynotron Slowing Structure
SINOPSIS
In order to explore the energy exchange between an electron beam and the high-frequency field in a klynotron an analysis is performed an originally homogeneous electron beam motion in the longitudinal electric field of a slow electromagnetic wave where the amplitude grows exponentially along the electron path. A comparison is made of the solutions found numerically and analytically by the perturbation method in terms of a small amplitude within the sixth approximation. An error of the approximate solution is shown to be insignificant at small transit angles and dramatically increases starting with its certain value. The so-called klynotron effect is briefly discussed.
