SINOPSIS

Some specific evidence from contact measurements of surface roughness parameters of farming land that has undergone a variety of mechanical cultivation. It is shown that the fractal description of rough surfaces opens up new avenues for tackling remote sensing problems. A huge amount of experimental data clearly indicates that both for rough and smooth surface the ACF (autocorrelation function) exponential and Gaussian approximations respectively are found to be the most suitable.
