DYNAMIC AUTODYNE AND MODULATION CHARACTERISTICS OF MICROWAVE OSCILLATORS

SINOPSIS

The results of studies of dynamic properties of autodyne oscillators through their modulation characteristics obtained by modulation of the microwave oscillators through the power-supply circuit in case high-frequency signal of small amplitude is fed to its bias circuit are introduced. The possibility of using this method for recording changes of oscillation amplitude and determining the time constant of autodyne response is shown. Introduction of an additional demodulator diode is proposed for recording the output signal in design of promising autodyne modules. Conclusions of the theoretical analysis are confirmed by experimental data obtained on the example of hybrid-integrated oscillator of 8mm wavelength range on the Gunn diode.
