ABSTRAKT
Previously we introduced a new method, called CVS (Coherent Vortex Simulation) to compute turbulent flows that is based on the wavelet filtered Navier-Stokes equations and their solution in an adaptive wavelet basis. Here we present a comparison of the CVS filtering with a classical LES filtering of homogeneous isotropic turbulence.
