ABSTRAKT

This study is to clarify the flow structure of a three-dimensional wall jet injected tangentially on a flat surface from a circular nozzle. The validity of "scales" defining the similarity region of this flow field from the viewpoint of mean and fluctuating velocity fields, by changing the shape of the velocity distribution at the nozzle exit between two types are reported. When used the "Um" in the mean flow field and "u'ym" (r.m.s. value of the fluctuated velocity u at the point of Um) in turbulent fields, similarity can be established at x/d ≥ 70 in the RD region of both fields. In the region of similarity has been established, the shape of profiles and characteristic values does not depend on the jet blowing conditions.
