EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF THE CONVECTIVE MASS TRANSFER COEFFICIENTS FOR CO2 ABSORPTION IN Fe3O4/H2O NANOFLUIDS
ABSTRAKT
Liquid mass transfer coefficient in the presence of 8-nm Fe3O4 nanoparticles in rising bubbles in a vertical tube was investigated experimentally. Variation of mass transfer coefficient with Reynolds number and volume fraction of nanoparticles was studied. Mass transfer coefficient of nanofluid with 0.001% and 0.005% volume fraction was measured lower than that of water for all Reynolds numbers. For nanofluids with 0.01-0.05% volume fraction of nanoparticles, enhancement in the mass transfer coefficient was observed relative to the base liquid. Nanofluid with 0.05% volume fraction of nanoparticles, at Reynolds 2100, enhanced mass transfer coefficient about 76%.
