ABSTRAKT
PIV/LIF simultaneous measurement was performed on a turbulent channel flow with a newly synthesized fluorescently-labeled polymer, which has chemical bond with a fluorescent material, in order to visualize the polymer behavior in the turbulent channel flow. The friction-drag-reduction effect of the present fluorescently-labeled polymer is confirmed when the polymers are injected in the turbulent flow. In Polymer area turbulent intensities and Reynolds shear stress reduction was confirmed in specific region. Reynolds shear stress was not uniform within each Polymer area, suggesting that the Reynolds shear stress reduction is achieved locally.
