ABSTRAKT
Detached Eddy Simulation is revisited, in the framework of temporal filtering Indeed, its original version consists of sensitizing a turbulence model to the spatial grid step. This method is consistent with the RANS limit, for statistically homogeneous fl ws. But most of everyday applications are rather stationary. Therefore, it is worth attempting to express the cutoff in temporal terms. This strategy implies the use of a coefficient CTDES instead of the original CDES. This new constant is evaluated against incompressible decaying isotropic turbulence (DIT), and its value appears to be close to 2.
