Eighty years ago, during the hard times for the country an outstanding Russian scientist and mechanical engineer, N.E. Zhukovsky, succeeded in organizing the Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute (TsAGI) in Moscow. He conceived it as an institute covering a wide range of knowledge in different fields and combining theoretical, physical, and experimental investigations and design of various flying vehicles, ships, and industrial objects for which aerodynamics plays a great role. %8 1999-08-01
