A1 Hrabovsky, Milan T1 INFLUENCE OF NON-EQUILIBRIUM EFFECTS ON PLASMA PROPERTY FUNCTIONS IN HYBRID WATER-ARGON PLASMA TORCH JF High Temperature Material Processes: An International Quarterly of High-Technology Plasma Processes JO HTM YR 2010 FD 2010-04-20 VO 14 IS 1-2 SP 95 OP 100 K1 hybrid water-argon plasma torch K1 plasma property functions K1 thermophysical properties of non-isothermal plasmas K1 non-isothermal plasma composition K1 non-isothermal thermodynamic properties AB In the hybrid water/argon plasma torch the argon plasma is mixed with steam evaporated from stabilizing water wall. The effect of plasma properties on performance characteristics of this torch can be described by the functions defined using the simple arc model based on the solution of the energy balance equation of the arc column. Our spectroscopical measurements revealed substantial elevation of the electron temperature at the nozzle exit compared to the gas temperature. It is therefore necessary to validate the models of plasma property functions using nonisothermal plasma composition and nonisothermal thermodynamic and transport properties of nonisothermal H2O-Ar plasma at the temperatures 300 K to 50,000 K and pressure 0.1 MPa. and to compare it with the results under LTE assumptions. The results show an inportant dependence of plasma property functions on the Te /T ratio.
