Exact Solution of Coupled Heat and Mass Transfer with One Discrete Sublimation Moving Interface and One Desorption Mushy Zone in a Cylindrically Symmetrical Porous Space

ABSTRAKT

The present work studies the accelerated freeze-drying, where sublimation drying and desorption drying occur concurrently, by a line heat source and a line mass sink in an infinite porous medium with cylindrical symmetry. Following our previous paper, a desorption mushy zone model is employed to describe the desorption process and an exact solution is derived for coupled heat and mass transfer with one discrete sublimation moving interface and one desorption mushy zone for the case that the adsorption fraction varies linearly with temperature, hereby the effects of the strength of heat source and the desorption parameter defined in our previous work on heat and mass transfer are analyzed.
