ABSTRAKT

A model has been developed to provide tracking of individual droplets undergoing basic atomization processes including both collisions and secondary atomization. A subset of the complete spray is modeled via a pseudo-axisymmetric approximation. Fluid dynamics and coupling with the gas phase are treated via solution of the Navier-Stokes equations under the homogeneous fluid assumption. Sample results are presented for both steady and unsteady injection events.
