ABSTRAKT

The aim of this paper is to discuss a numerical study of a moving boundary problem governing the process of phase change with the aid of the finite difference method. The mathematical model of the problem involves the temperature-dependent thermal coefficients and mixed boundary condition (convective boundary condition). For a particular case, the comparison has been revealed between exact solution and obtained a numerical solution of the problem to present the accuracy of the results. The stability and consistency of the proposed solution are also analyzed. Moreover, we discuss the effect of various parameters on the temperature distribution in the domain and the tracking of evolving interface.
