ABOUT METHODS OF DETEMINING BUFFET ONSET BOUNDARY FOR A PASSENGER AIRCRAFT WING

ABSTRAKT

An iterative engineering algorithm for determining the buffet onset boundary on a preliminary stage of aircraft design is proposed. The function CL buf(M) is obtained by two methods, namely, the analysis of the CL(α) curve and the analysis of topology of streamlines on the upper wing surface. Aeroelastic deformations are taken into account in the computations. The minimum computer resources to complete the entire analysis for estimating total configuration is the main advantage of the used program. A comparison of the computational results with the experimental data obtained in a wind tunnel is accomplished.
