ABSTRAKT

This paper deals with the application of the plasma spouted bed reactor for high temperature material processes. Three main concerns are presented, (i) Hydrodynamics : a correlation for the prediction of spouting transition under plasma conditions is proposed, (ii) Powder synthesis : carbo-nitriding of silica with a N2 plasma, (iii) dust treatment : separation of valuable metals from dusts. The plasma spouted bed appears to be a versatile gas-solid reactor for gas, liquid and solid processing.
