ABSTRAKT

A total of 373 species and 101 varieties and forms of algae was found in plankton of three large lakes of the Novosibirsk region, including the Chany, Ubinskoye, and Sartlan lakes. Data on the peculiarities of the species composition of phytoplankton, and also on the quantitative indices of its development, are given in the paper. It has been found that water salinity is the main factor influencing the development of phytoplankton in the studied lakes. Its increase resulted in the decrease of the species diversity of phytoplankton, of its numbers and biomass, of the Shannon index of species diversity, and of the content of chlorophyll a. The increase in water salinity resulted in the simplification of the taxonomic structure of phytoplankton. Thus, its biological productivity also decreased.
